• Patrick Rothfuss’s Kingkiller Chronicle (including all three books, from The Name of the Wind to the upcoming The Doors of Stone) has been optioned by New Regency Productions and Fox Television.
  • Who will play the twelfth incarnation of The Doctor? The BBC will be announcing it Sunday, August 4th in a show called Doctor Who Live: The Next Doctor. It will air on BBC One at 7pm and on BBC America at 2pm Eastern.
  • The much belated Artemis Fowl movie seems to be happening again, as LeakyNews reports. There are names attached to it this time, which bodes well. Could it finally be pulling out of Development Hell after all these years? The movie is being produced by Harvey Weinstein, with Michael Goldenburg directing and Robert DeNiro and Jane Rosenthal as executive producers.
  • The CW’s superhero show factory is cranking out another program. A show centered around The Flash is currently being fast-tracked, with the Barry Allen character slated to be introduced during the second season of Arrow. The two shows are supposed to have a bit of overlap, so we may be seeing more of CW’s strange nightclub-filled parallel universe rather than the world of the earlier seasons of Smallville.
